I'm a paragraph. Click here to add your own text and edit me. It's easy.

GOD - There is one God, eternally existing in three distinct persons: the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. These three are co-creators and each possess all of the attributes of God. God is the creator and sustainer of the universe and everything in it. Genesis 1:1, Genesis 1:26-27, Psalm 90:2.

JESUS CHRIST - Jesus Christ is the Son of God. He is one with God the Father and the Holy Spirit. Jesus Christ is our Lord and Savior, who was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, died on a cross for all sin, and was raised from the grave after three days to demonstrate His defeat of sin and death. He ascended into heaven and will return again to earth to reign as our powerful leader and forgiver. Matthew 16:16, John 1:1-5, John 10:36, John 14:6.

THE HOLY SPIRIT - The Holy Spirit is one with God the Father and Jesus Christ. Those who accept Christ as their Lord and Savior will receive the Holy Spirit to live inside them. The Holy Spirit serves as our comforter, guide, and advocate. The Holy Spirit is given to Christians and provides guidance in living, an understanding of the Bible, and prayerfully intercedes for them. John 16:13-14, John 15:26, Acts 2:38, Romans 8:1314, Galatians 5:22-23.

THE BIBLE  - Our foundation is based firmly upon the Bible as our final authority on Christian beliefs and as a guide to living. The Bible is divinely inspired by God, the original language is without error, given to mankind so that we may know and understand the truth of God and His love. 2 Timothy 3:16.

SALVATION - Salvation is not something that is earned. It is a free gift from God provided by Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross and is received through faith. It is available to everyone who accepts Jesus Christ as their Savior and Lord. That faith is expressed through repentance of sin, baptism, and submission to Jesus as Lord and Savior of your life. Ephesians 1:7, Ephesians 2:8-10, John 1:12, 1 Peter 1:18-19, Acts 2:37-40

HOLY MATRIMONY - First Christian Church will officiate and perform only ceremonies of Holy Matrimony. In God’s created design, Holy Matrimony is between one man born as a biological male and one woman born as a biological female. Genesis 2:22-24, Matthew 19:3-7.

THE LORD’S SUPPER - The Lord’s Supper is an observance/memorial moment for believers in Jesus Christ. It is a time to give Jesus glory and honor, ask for forgiveness of sins, and acknowledge Jesus's return to judge the world. The variations of the forms of receiving communion are many. Jesus refers to bread and fruit of the vine as the elements to partake. Communion is for believers in Jesus as Lord who celebrate together all that Jesus has done and what He is yet to do. 1 Corinthians 11:23-30

BAPTISM - Baptism refers to the total immersion in water of a believer who has repented of sin and confessed Jesus as Lord and Savior. The Apostle’s belief of baptism was that it was for the remission (forgiveness) of sins and as an oath of allegiance (total loyalty) to Christ. Baptism identifies us with Christ and His death, burial, and resurrection. While the Church holds to and practices water baptism of believers by immersion after profession of faith, we accept as full members, believers who transfer membership from another church, who in good and honest conscience attest to covenantal water baptism.  Matthew 28:19, Galatians 3:27, Acts 2:38, Romans 6:4-5, 1 Peter 3:21

Membership Requirements

First Christian Church membership shall be upon the basis of obedience to the New Testament requirements. These are faith in Jesus as the Christ, the Son of God; repentance of sin; confession of faith in Christ; baptism in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and agreement with our Christian Belief Essentials. Any person stating compliance with these requirements and making a formal request for membership will be considered a voting member.  Individuals may transfer from another Congregation.

A member who for one year is voluntarily absent from all participation in the life of the Church or has submitted a letter of termination to the General Board may be ruled inactive, and in such case, may not serve as a General Board member or be included in the church membership count. The General Board, at its discretion, may at any time strike names from the list of inactive members and adopt such rules as it may deem necessary with respect to the removal or suspension of any member.
